TED FLOWERS
Indiana Model with Makers Mark
Not many Ted Flowers saddles had
any kind of formal markings or Identification on them.
He relied on his workmanship and
style to set his saddles apart. You can tell by the horn and the
silver pieces that you have a Ted Flowers saddle. No serial numbers
or name.
However, a very rare few had
an oval tag on the seat with the logo "Spot Shop" "Alexandria,
Ind." This is one of 2 that I have come across in over 20 years.
(see Photo) It is not known if he did this on his own or the
purchaser requested it.
This Indiana model has the
following: The Cantle, Horn and Swells are encased and Hand
Engraved. Corner and Spots are engraved.Skirts 14 X 29 inches
square: Seat is 15 inches: Fenders 9 1/2 X 19 inches;
This saddle is in great shape!
Its very collectable because of the saddle seat tag. However, It's
in such great condition you can put it on a horse and show it. It
has a new head stall and reins. New leather but all the original
silver. Tapaderos, Serapes, Breast Collar and Saddle are in great
condition!
From the collection of Western
Performer, Mark Allen.
