"I just found your website – My dad, David
Godfrey, has a Ted Flowers Chief Deluxe Silver Parade Saddle with
Indian Heads that he bought in 1964-65. I have been going through
all of his old parade pictures and putting them in a scrapbook for
him. I was looking on the internet for some history on his parade
saddle and if they were still being made and sold. My dad
originally had a black Morgan stallion that he used the saddle on
and looked absolutely gorgeous. That horse died in 1980 and then he
rode a large red Mule – He also looked very classy with all the
silver. Since the mule died, he has actually borrowed horses to
ride in the parades every year. He only does two parades a year now
in the spring as my dad is now 86 years old.
I’ve attached a
couple of pictures to share with you – One of them shows a picture
of his silver-dollar jacket that he wears in the parades – It has
262 silver dollars dating back to 1880 – They are attached to a
custom-made leather jacket that he had made around 1973
Sincerely,
